Research and Training in the Field of Nuclear Energy
The specific programme of research and training in the field of nuclear energy implements the section of the Fifth Framework Programme covered by the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) Treaty.
The aim of the Nuclear Energy programme is to help exploit the full potential of nuclear energy, both fusion and fission, in a sustainable manner, by making current technologies even safer and more economical, and by exploring promising new concepts.
Research activities in the non-nuclear energy sector are implemented under the "Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development" (EESD) programme of the European Community Fifth RTD Framework Programme.
The Fifth Framework Programme (1998-2002) has finished. Results of completed projects are now available. This page will be updated regularly.
Information relating to the Sixth Framework Programme (2002-2006) activities in the field of nuclear energy is available on CORDIS FP6-Euratom.
